We received a call yesterday from a veteran referred to us by the Fort Carson Army AW2 Wounded Warrior Program, who is no longer able to care for Seleen, the beautiful dog pictured here. While we don't normally get involved in rehoming pets for individuals, if called upon we'll always try help out in some way. Seleen (just like the Mustang!) is a sweet, well-trained, eight year-old pit bull. She's up to date on all of her shots and currently lives in Pueblo, Colorado. Well, ok - not the kind we set out to make, but any time we can save an animal from an uncertain or unwanted fate, it's a good day. Driving back to Pets HQ I spotted a greyhound trotting (ok, more like galloping) across a busy, six-way intersection. Ok, I thought, this can't be good. Love this story: a now eight-year old Beagle disappeared from his house; naturally, his owners assumed the worst. Fast-forward three long years: the dog was found on the Appalachian trail and returned to his home. Thankfully he had a chip and was able to be identified, once found. It's about a two-legged dog, rejected and abused by its mother, that was given a new lease on life by a loving military family. The dog, appropriately named Faith, has become something of a celebrity at military bases and hospitals around the country.
